The Benefits of Water Based Lubricant

There are two types of lubricants out there - silicone and water-based. There are many reasons why you should go with the latter when you are making your selection. Many people find water-based lubricants to feel more natural and “wet.” The consistency is closer to the lubricant naturally produced by the human body, and the texture is said to feel more realistic.

Water-based lubes also have no smell or taste, like many silicone lubes do. Those kinds of smells can often interfere with the moment, overpowering your sensual experience with a strong artificial scent or even worse, the plasticy smell of silicone.

Water-based lubes leave skin and fabric clean and residue-free, with no sticky leftovers. They won't stain or mess up your clothes or sheets. This makes for a very easy cleanup. Silicone lubricants on the other hand, are not fabric friendly. If you get silicone lubricant on any kind of fabric, you need to stop what you're doing and treat the stain right away - if you want to save those sheets or clothes, that is.

Plus, water-based lubes put your sex toys and condoms well out of harm's way. On the contrary, silicone-based formulas can degrade their quality, which makes them a bit dangerous if you rely on condoms as contraceptive. Plus, you don't want to ruin your favorite sex toys.
